What protective gear does
Protective equipment spreads and absorbs impact so your body takes less of it — helmets for the head, mouthguards for teeth and jaw, guards and padding for limbs and joints. It reduces risk; it does not remove it.
Fit is everything
Protection only works if it fits and is worn correctly. Loose or wrong-sized gear can shift on impact and fail to protect — follow fitting guidance and do not size up “to last”.
Never trust damaged protection
Protective gear that has taken a significant hit, or that is past its stated life, should be replaced. The damage that protects you once may leave it unable to protect you again.
