Clean and dry after use
Sweat, dirt and moisture are the main enemies of most equipment. Wipe gear down after use and let it dry fully before storing — damp storage shortens the life of grips, padding, textiles and metal parts alike.
Store it properly
Extreme heat, cold and damp all degrade materials. Store equipment somewhere dry and moderate — not a hot car boot or a damp shed. A bag protects gear in transit and keeps a kit together.
Inspect regularly
A quick look before each session catches problems early: frayed strings, worn grips, cracked shells, thinning soles or perished straps. Fixing or replacing early is cheaper and safer than a failure mid-game.
