Overview
A baseball bat is a long, smooth club, thicker at the barrel and narrowing to a thin handle with a knob at the end. Batters swing it with both hands to strike the ball thrown by the pitcher.
Bats can be made of wood or metal depending on the level of play, but all share the same rounded shape designed to make solid, square contact with the ball.
